Kraton (palace) Kasultanan Yogyakarta is located in Yogyakarta downtown. More than 200 years ago, this place is a bog named Umbul Pacetokan, then built by Prince Mangkubumi becomes a guesthouse named AyodyaPada. In 1955 there was Giyanti agreement which divided two empire of Mataram become Ksunanan Surakarta lead by Sunan Pakubuwono III and Kasultanan Ngayogyakarta lead by Mangkubumi Prince then titled of Hamengkubuwono I. Hereinafter, Pesanggrahan (Hall) Ayodya Sultan built to become Kraton Kasultanan Yogyakarta.

Yogyakarta Palace stands up luxury towards north with Alun-Alun (square) as its front yard, which utilized as place to gather people, war training for all soldier, and traditional ceremony place. At south side of north Alun-Alun, there is gallery in front of the palace, which called as Performance.

In side of the palace area, there is Sri Manganti yard with Regol (gapuro / gate) Danapratopo which is taken care by a couple of Dwarapala: Cingkarabala and Bala Upata, Bangsal Traju  Mas, Bangsal Sri  Manganti, which is utilized to keep some antique gamelan (Javanese music instruments) and from past period, which has melodious voice. In main yard that located in side of the building, the tourists can watch Yellows building which is a building of Sri Sultan to take a rest, Prabayekso barn. Manis barn, a place of Sri Sultan welcomed his guests, Kasatriyan area as Sri Sultan’s sons residence; who has not married yet. This final place is forbidden for tourist to visit. Kraton is the center of Java cultural art, which can be watched through its beautifull architecture with dazzling ornaments. Every Day Karaton open for tourist visit started at 08.30 to 13.00, except Friday Kraton only open up to; 11.00.
