Indonesia Government had granted visa on arrival favor to 52 countries to be able to purchase the visa on arrival facility upon their arrival in Indonesia's designed “International Gateway” at 15 airports and 21 seaports.

Indonesia has only 2 seasons along the year, that is the "dry" and the "wet" (rainy) seasons. The dry season normally starts from May - October and the rainy season starts from November - April. February has the most rainfall and October can be the hottest month along the year.
The local currency is Rp (Rupiah) and comes in (bank note) denominations of Rp 1,000 ; 2,000 ; 5,000 ; 10,000 ; 100,000. Coins break down into 100 ; 500 ; and 1,000.
The national language is "Bahasa Indonesia" (bahasa=language). However local dialects are commonly spoken among the Indonesian tribes like Balinese, Javanese, Madurese etc.
Javanese Wayang Golek (Puppet show), Wayang Orang (folk drama), Sendratari (classical Javanese dance-drama) with Gamelan background music are still performed by Javanese people, in certain occassions like wedding ceremonies, full moon etc.
Standard voltage Indonesia uses European 2-progned power plugs. The correct voltage is 220 volts at a frequency of 50 Hz.
AIRLINES / TRAINS: convenient domestic air services connect Surabaya with many cities in Indonesia. Regular shuttles to and from Jakarta are available. Denpasar - Bali and Mataram - Lombok is only half an hour's flight away. Many flights heading for the northern and eastern islands stop over at Surabaya. Being an important commercial hub, there are also direct services to and from Singapore, Hong Kong, Brunei and Kuala Lumpur. A large number of express trains and buses from / to Surabaya connects to other major cities in Java.
Juanda International Airport
Juanda International Airport is the international airport that serves Surabaya city of East Java and its surroundings. Juanda International Airport is located in Waru District, Sidoarjo Regency, or 20 km to the south of Surabaya city center.
Juanda International Airport is operated by PT Angkasa Pura I. Its name is derived from the DJUANDA KARTAWIDJAJA, the last Prime Minister of Indonesia who have suggested the construction of this airport. Juanda International Airport is the second largest and busiest airport in Indonesia after Soekarno-Hatta International Airport by aircraft and passenger movements.
As in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, the passenger is not necessarily go up bus towards door of plane. It is available 11 trunks (garbarata) that become the bridge towards the plane entrance. The wide screen is put down in some corners. From this Flight Information Display System (FIDS) facility, the passenger can see the arrival schedule and also the plane departure.
Juanda International Airport has been operated starting from the date of November 7, 2006, although it was inaugurated on November 11, 2006 by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Now, the new Juanda Airport consists of three floors. In fact, on February 14, 2014 Terminal 2 (T2) Surabaya Juanda Airport began operating. Terminal 2 or T2 Juanda Airport is the old terminal which has been renovated. T2 Juanda Airport is used for international flights and some domestic ie to airline Garuda Indonesia, AirAsia and Tiger Mandala.
